Mattawamkeag Department Extends Condolences to Firefighter’s Family

MATTAWAMKEAG, Maine — May 15th — Following the death of a fellow fireman this week, members of Mattawamkeag Fire & Rescue expressed their condolences and offered support to the firefighter's family and department during a trying time for the emergency services community. The department, which has its headquarters at 327 Main St. in Mattawamkeag, acknowledged the close ties that firemen in Maine and the nation have. Following a member's death, fire departments frequently band together to offer resources, peer support, and support to impacted families and departments.


Following line-of-duty deaths and other losses, national organizations like the National deceased Firefighters Foundation continue to stress the significance of remembering deceased firefighters and promoting responder welfare. The fire service community will remember the firefighter's dedication and service, according to Mattawamkeag Fire & Rescue.
