BINGHAM, Maine — May 21 — To improve wildland firefighting and rescue efforts in the area, the Bingham Fire Department expanded its emergency response fleet with a new 2026 Polaris 1500XD. A wildland firefighting skid unit and rescue gear intended for off-road access during brush fires, medical emergencies, and remote search occurrences are installed in the utility vehicle.

Utility response vehicles are being used by fire departments throughout Maine to increase access in rural and wooded areas. Additionally, 201 Powersports was commended by department authorities for helping to unload and service the new unit. It is anticipated that the equipment will enhance the community's ability to respond to wildland incidents and other emergency situations.
