POMFRET, Vt. — May 5th — During the department's weekly drill night on Tuesday, members of the Pomfret-Teago Volunteer Fire Department completed station maintenance and received training with new emergency equipment. In order to clean apparatus bays, examine tools, and go over equipment procedures utilized during fire and rescue events, firefighters convened at headquarters on Pomfret Road.

Regular training, according to department officials, is still crucial to keeping the town and other mutual aid areas prepared for emergency calls. Every week, volunteer fire departments in Vermont conduct exercises to enhance collaboration, equipment familiarity, and operational safety. Additionally, the program gave new members practical experience with upgraded technologies and protocols intended to facilitate effective emergency response operations.
