PROVIDENCE, R.I. — May 21st — During a Fire Awareness Day program that focused on emergency safety education and fire prevention, Providence Fire Department members visited Fogarty students. The department's firefighters, who are based at 325 Washington St., discussed smoke alarms, evacuation preparation, and the significance of dialing 911 in an emergency with the pupils.

Inquiries concerning firefighting apparatus and day-to-day departmental operations were also addressed by crews. Children are frequently taught fundamental safety procedures at home and in school environments through school-based fire prevention programs. According to department officials, public education and community outreach are still crucial components of lowering fire hazards and enhancing emergency readiness in Providence's schools and communities.
