MASONVILLE, N.Y. — May 11th — Masonville Volunteer Fire Department members participated in a vehicle extrication training exercise with Trout Creek Volunteer Fire Company Inc. that mimicked a two-car collision. One car was on a bank in the scenario, necessitating considerable stabilization before rescue efforts could start. During the practical exercise, firefighters collaborated to remove roofs, steady both vehicles, and execute a dash roll.
The Masonville Volunteer Fire Department, which is situated at 15488 State Highway 8, often holds rescue drills to have workers ready for major car crashes on remote roads. Multidisciplinary training improves cooperation, communication, and operational preparedness during complicated rescue situations, according to officials. The training site and the trucks utilized in the exercise were donated by Gray's Garage and Hauling.
