MASONVILLE, N.Y. — April 23rd — Masonville Volunteer Fire Department members finished their yearly driver recertification exercise, which covered drafting skills, rural water supply strategies, and engine operations. During the practical practice, firefighters drafted water from various sources while rotating through both department engines. Along with learning how to set up and fill a drop tank, members also received training on the department's new tanker dump valve and basic operating protocols.

In order to keep regions without municipal hydrant systems prepared for emergencies, the Masonville Volunteer Fire Department, situated at 15488 State Highway 8, periodically performs equipment training. Drafting and tanker shuttle operations are still crucial abilities for rural fire departments that serve communities across the region, according to officials. Additionally, the department urged interested locals to think about volunteering for vital operational positions.
