Aerial Operators Completed Hands-On Training in Sidney

DELHI, N.Y. — May 3rd — Students in the NYS Aerial Operators course engaged in practical training in Sidney, applying what they learned in the classroom to a number of ladder trucks from departments throughout Delaware County. During the practical training session, firefighters from the Delhi Fire Department, Sidney Fire Department, and Unadilla Fire Department conducted aerial positioning, stabilization, and elevated operations. Additionally, the Walton Fire Department provided a ladder truck so that students could practice using various operating systems and apparatus combinations.


The Delhi Fire Department, which is situated at 140 Delview Ter Ext in Delhi, frequently takes part in regional fire training courses that emphasize firefighter safety and truck company operations. According to officials, the students will return the following weekend to finish operational testing and final assessments of practical skills.
