Multi-Agency Responders Honored After Motorcycle Rescue

MANHASSET-LAKEVILLE, N.Y. — 7th May — Deputy Chief Weisburd of Company 2 was recently honored by the Manhasset-Lakeville Volunteer Fire Department for his assistance in rescuing a motorcyclist who was trapped under a car. Deputy Chief Weisburd collaborated with members of the Nassau County Police Medic Association, members of the Nassau County Police Department, and Captain Beth Weisburd of the Port Washington Fire Department throughout the incident, according to officials. In order to safely remove the motorcyclist and administer emergency care at the scene, emergency personnel coordinated rescue and medical operations.


According to department officials, the honor emphasized how crucial it is for law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services to work together during complicated emergency situations. Coordinated training and communication are still crucial to the success of rescue efforts across Nassau County, the department continued.
