Oceanside Fire Department Honors Former Chief Robert Jacoby

OCEANSIDE, N.Y. — 2nd May — At a street dedication event at the intersection of Colonial Place and Glenwood Court, the Oceanside NY Fire Department, situated at 65 Foxhurst Rd in Oceanside, NY, United States, 11572, recently paid tribute to former Chief of Department Robert Jacoby. After 64 years of service, Jacoby became the department's chief of department in 1977. Additionally, he was a lifelong lecturer at the Nassau County Fire Service Academy, where he assisted in the training of firemen from various Nassau County agencies.


According to department authorities, Jacoby continued to be involved in Hose Company #1 and worked as a Training Officer and Safety Officer throughout his career. The celebration honoring his decades of devotion to the community and fire service was attended by town of Hempstead officials, department employees, commissioners, and family members.
