Port Washington FD Marks International Firefighters’ Day

PORT WASHINGTON, N.Y. — 4th May — On May 4, the Port Washington Fire Department, which is situated at 423 Port Washington Blvd. in Port Washington, NY, United States, 11050, observed International Firefighters' Day alongside departments worldwide. Firefighters, both past and current, were recognized by department officials for their commitment to public safety and ongoing support of their communities. The event honored the effort that firefighters do on a daily basis while responding to medical crises, fires, rescues, and other occurrences.


Additionally, officials expressed gratitude to the locals and families that support emergency service workers all year long. Every year, International firemen' Day is commemorated to honor firemen around the world and recognize their dedication to using emergency response and public service activities to safeguard lives, property, and communities.
