Junior Firefighter Program Highlighted at Nassau County Training Event

SEAFORD, N.Y. — 25th April — Junior Firefighter Captain Lauren deHaan recently represented the Seaford Fire Department at the Nassau County Fire Service's "Youth Women in the Fire Service Day," which was held at the Nassau County Fire Academy. Junior firefighters from several departments in Nassau County came together for practical exercises, leadership development, and fire service training. While working alongside other junior members throughout the day, deHaan was commended by academy officials for her leadership, teamwork, and positive attitude.


According to department officials, the occasion brought attention to how crucial it is to foster young people's involvement in the emergency services community and mentor aspiring firemen. Additionally, the department expressed gratitude to Academy instructors and Chief Paul Wilders for their ongoing support of junior firefighter programs.
