UNIONDALE, N.Y. — 10th May — In a Mother's Day greeting, the Uniondale Fire Department honored mothers, grandmothers, caregivers, and other family members who support families and communities on a daily basis. In addition to acknowledging aunts, sisters, stepmothers, and other significant caregivers, department officials recognized the women who provide families courage, tolerance, and direction.

The message also paid tribute to moms who have passed away, highlighting their enduring influence on local communities and families. The commitment and assistance of fathers and guardians fulfilling dual parenting responsibilities were also recognized. According to officials, the award shows how much the agency values the families who support first responders and keep communities connected and supported all year long.
