The Patchogue Fire Department's headquarters on Jennings Avenue hosted a car extrication training class on April 26.

According to officials, the training was conducted by instructors from the Suffolk County Fire Academy and featured a number of rescue scenarios intended to improve tool operations and extrication skills. During practical exercises, firefighters trained using the different rescue tools carried on department apparatus.

The department acknowledged that ongoing rescue training keeps firemen ready for motor vehicle accident responses and praised the academy instructors for helping to make the training session a success.
