St. James Firefighters Complete Advanced Forcible Entry Training

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Members of the St. James Volunteer Fire Department attended advanced forceful entry training at the Yaphank training facility on April 23.

According to officials, the course concentrated on specific procedures that are employed in emergency situations when regular entry approaches prove inadequate. Firefighters received training on how to approach massively guarded buildings, security bars, multiple locking systems, and reinforced, commercial-grade doors.

Building assessment, tool selection, coordinated entry techniques, and the usage of cutting-edge machinery like rotary saws and hydraulic forced entry tools were all covered in the course. According to the agency, advanced forced entry training facilitates firefighters' safe and effective access during life-threatening situations where quick entry may be required to save lives and property.
