Several training exercises centered on communications and fireground operations were carried out by East Brentwood Fire Department personnel on April 27.

According to officials, the simulation on Monday focused on roof operations, with firefighters simulating vertical ventilation on a commercial building using pallets and plywood. Members were able to practice ventilation procedures utilized during commercial fire occurrences thanks to the practical training.

Firefighters went over hose handling techniques during Wednesday's simulation before moving on to instruction on department signal procedures and ESO reporting systems. According to the department, ongoing training keeps members prepared for emergency situations.
