Crews Remove 11 Ducklings Trapped Behind Lowe’s

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

A complaint of ducklings caught inside a storm drain prompted the Bay Shore Fire Department to react to the rear of Lowe's Home Improvement on May 19.

Second Assistant Chief Kyle Voges came first, according to officials, and verified that about eleven ducklings were trapped in the drain. All of the ducklings were successfully retrieved from the storm drain by Rescue 3-1-8 crews and the Suffolk County Police Department Emergency Service Section.

To help with the ducks' relocation, store staff got in touch with a nearby animal rescue group. Chief of Department John Ippolito Jr. was in charge of the incident.
