Service Awards and Leadership Recognized in Homer

HOMER, NY — April 24th — In order to honor officials, award winners, and years of service accomplishments, the Homer Fire Department hosted their yearly Installation Dinner at the Homer Elks Lodge 2506. Jason Lawrence was appointed Deputy Chief and Nate Stockwin was appointed Chief of the Department. Additionally, members were given service honors ranging from five to fifty years; Bob Johnson and John Ryan Jr. were recognized for fifty years of service.


At the department's 2025 Field Days event, additional awards honored EMS service, firefighter leadership, and acts during a life-saving incident. Additionally, officials expressed gratitude to departing Chief Jay Riley for his dedication to department operations and leadership during his last year in office.
