Freeport, PA - During EMS Week, Freeport Fire-EMS highlights Education Day, emphasizing the role of ongoing training and public education in strengthening emergency medical services.

Education within the department extends well beyond initial certification. EMTs and paramedics regularly participate in continuing education, advanced specialty training, and instructor development programs to enhance skills and improve patient outcomes. Staff certifications include Crisis Intervention Team (CIT), Critical Care Transport, Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST), EMS Instructor, CPR Instructor, and other specialized areas.

This commitment to education also extends into the community through public outreach and training. The department is actively engaged in CPR and First Aid instruction with local Scout Troop 557 and continues to host community CPR classes to promote preparedness and injury prevention.
