LITTLE VALLEY, NY — May 4th — Along with other fire departments nationwide, the Little Valley Fire Department observed National firemen Day and paid tribute to firemen for their ongoing contributions to their communities. Firefighters respond to fires, auto accidents, medical calls, and other emergencies on a regular basis while staying trained and ready all year long, according to department officials. Volunteers and professionals were honored for their contribution to public safety operations, teamwork, and dedication.

The department, which has its headquarters at 101 3rd St. in Little Valley, still offers emergency response and fire safety services to the entire town. The celebration was also used by fire departments throughout New York to emphasize the value of continuing support for the fire service profession, mutual aid collaboration, and training.
