LIMESTONE, NY — May 4th — In recognition of International Firefighters' Day and the efforts of volunteer and professional firefighters, the Limestone Volunteer Fire Department joined fire departments throughout. Every year on May 4th, people celebrate the importance of firefighters in keeping communities safe amid medical crises, fires, rescues, and other catastrophes. Ongoing training, collaboration, and public support are still crucial components of emergency response operations, according to department officials.

The department, which has its headquarters at 5886 Church Street in Limestone, still offers emergency services and fire protection to the local community. The celebration was also used by fire departments throughout New York to honor the commitment of firemen who provide emergency response, preparedness, and public safety outreach services to their communities.
