On Sunday, May 18th, departments from across the state of New Jersey participated in a full scale water supply drill. “Building the Water Supply Infrastructure”, was ran through JCK Academy and the Suburban Chiefs Association of Mercer, Middlesex & Monmouth Counties. In the prior 3 weeks, dozens of firefighters from the state gained critical skills for establishing water supply in areas without hydrants; or when the hydrant system becomes overwhelmed or fails. During Sunday's full-scale exercise, they successfully sustained nearly 3,000-gallons-per-minute using just tankers. The drill included over 30 departments from over 6 counties.
