Hinsdale Fire Department Recognizes International Firefighters’ Day

SYRACUSE, NY — May 4th — On International firemen' Day, the Hinsdale Volunteer Fire Department honored firemen for their unwavering commitment to public safety, training, and service. In addition, department representatives recognized the sacrifices made by emergency responders and their families and paid tribute to firemen who died while performing their duties. Throughout the year, firefighters consistently assist their communities through emergency response, training, public education, and station operations.


Every year on May 4th, departments all over the world mark International Firefighters' Day to honor active, retired, and fallen firefighters. The event was used by fire service organizations throughout New York to emphasize the professionalism, dedication, and teamwork needed in emergency response operations.
