International Firefighters’ Day Celebrated in Farmersville

FARMERSVILLE STATION, NY — May 4th — The Farmersville Fire Department honored the commitment and devotion of its volunteers in observance of International Firefighters' Day. Firefighters who consistently respond to emergencies, participate in training, help with community activities, and support department operations throughout the year have demonstrated a continuous commitment, according to department officials. Volunteer firemen sometimes juggle emergency response duties with obligations to their families, jobs, and public service.


Every year on May 4th, International Firefighters' Day is commemorated to honor firefighters worldwide for their services to community protection and public safety. New York departments took the opportunity to express gratitude to both active and retired firefighters for their unwavering commitment to the fire service.
