Advanced Water Supply Training Enhances Regional Fireground Operations

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Campton, NH - Campton-Thornton Fire Rescue, alongside Woodstock Fire Department (NH) and Lincoln Fire Department (NH), conducted joint water supply training focused on improving large-scale fireground logistics and drafting operations.

Crews practiced key skills including drafting water sources, filling and shuttling tankers, and efficient deployment of porta-tanks to sustain continuous water supply operations.

The training also incorporated the use of turbo drafting devices, which allow apparatus to draft from shallow water sources by creating a venturi effect to force water into supply lines connected to the pump intake.

Campton-Thornton Fire Rescue Engines 1 and 3 participated in the evolution, strengthening interoperability and operational readiness across departments.
