Confined Space Training at Dartmouth College

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Hanover, NH - Members of the Hanover Fire Department conducted a confined space rescue drill on the Dartmouth College campus, focusing on high-risk, low-frequency operations associated with the campus steam system.

With nearly 100 manholes supporting the infrastructure, the environment provides realistic and complex training conditions for emergency response.

Crews worked through confined space entry and rescue procedures, reinforcing technical skills and operational readiness.

The department extends thanks to the Dartmouth College heating plant staff and Environmental Health & Safety team for providing access and supporting this important training opportunity.
