East Otto Fire Company Marks International Firefighters’ Day

EAST OTTO, NY — May 4th — Along with other departments in the area, members of the East Otto Fire Company celebrated International Firefighters' Day and paid tribute to the efforts of both career and volunteer firefighters. The yearly celebration honors the services rendered by firefighters during public safety situations, medical emergencies, rescues, and structural fires. Volunteer firefighters, who comprise a significant portion of rural areas' emergency services system, were also honored for their ongoing commitment and time spent assisting locals.


On this day, departments in western New York recognized the dedication, cooperation, and training needed to safeguard their communities. East Otto Fire Company members expressed gratitude to firemen for their continued service to the area.
