NORTH BEND, PA — May 9th — Over the weekend, firefighters from Waterville Volunteer Fire Company, Beech Creek-Blanchard Volunteer Fire Company, and Avis Fire Company #1 completed an Emergency Boat Operations training course with members of Chapman Township Volunteer Fire Company Station 27.

Boat handling, water rescue techniques, scene safety, and coordinated operations in moving water situations were the main topics of the course. Firefighters employed rescue tools that are frequently used in the area during flood and river crises. Such training initiatives improve preparedness for water-related events throughout Clinton County and the adjacent areas and strengthen coordination of mutual aid.
