CATTARAUGUS, NY — 20th April — Members of the Little Valley Fire Department were invited to a joint evening training session on teamwork and operational coordination by the Cattaraugus Volunteer Fire Department. Crews practiced practical exercises intended to improve mutual aid operations, communication, and scene coordination. Together, firefighters received training on typical practices for responding to emergencies in the area, including structural fires.
Regular multi-agency training, according to department officers, prepares personnel for major emergencies needing multiple agencies to work together and enhances efficiency between adjacent departments. In addition to giving more junior firemen useful field experience, the nightly program strengthened the bonds between the two departments.
