Gettysburg, PA - The Gettysburg Fire Department is once again taking part in the 45th Annual National Fallen Firefighters Memorial in Emmitsburg, Maryland, honoring firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

This year, Gettysburg’s Truck 1 is stationed alongside Fort Detrick Fire Department’s Truck 50 at the main entrance to the National Fire Academy during the memorial events. A total of 204 firefighters will be added to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation’s Roll of Honor this year, including 97 firefighters who died in 2025 and 107 firefighters from previous years.
