This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

KENDUSKEAG, ME — April 29th — Along with teams from the Bradford and Charleston fire departments, members of the Kenduskeag Fire-Rescue took part in a field burn training exercise organized by the Hudson Fire Department. According to department officials, the controlled burn provided firefighters with practical training in managing water supplies in open fields, brush fire operations, and fire behavior.

These kinds of training scenarios give personnel a greater understanding of how flora, geography, and weather affect the spread of fire. Prior to brush fire season, fire agency commanders reported that the event improved coordination and communication amongst nearby agencies for mutual aid.
