MYSTIC, Conn. — April 21st — On Administrative Professionals Day, the Old Mystic Fire Department honored the employees who work behind the scenes to support department operations. In order to enable firemen and cops effectively serve the community, department leaders recognized Kara and Janet for their ongoing work managing scheduling, communication, records, and day-to-day office operations. Leaders in the fire service observed that administrative personnel are crucial to the coordination, planning, and public relations of emergency response organizations.

Beyond emergency calls and training exercises, the acknowledgment emphasized the collaboration needed to maintain departmental operations. Administrative professionals continue to play a significant role in the department's purpose and service to the Old Mystic community, according to department members.
