West Haven Firefighters Celebrate Mother’s Day

WEST HAVEN, CT — May 10th — In honor of Mother's Day, the West Shore Fire Department honored mothers who work in the department and throughout the emergency services community. For firefighters, emergency medical services, and dispatch mothers who continue to juggle family obligations with public safety job, department officials sent their best wishes for good health and happiness. Many emergency service mothers work long shifts, answer calls on holidays, and continue to be dedicated to helping their communities, according to members.


The acknowledgment also emphasized the ongoing advancement of women in leadership and training positions in the fire and emergency medical services industry across the country. According to department officials, the purpose of the celebration was to acknowledge the significant role mothers play in the emergency services industry and to express gratitude for their commitment at home and in serving the public.
