Palmer Firefighter Retires After Years of Fire Safety Education

During her last Fire and Life Safety class with the Palmer Fire Department on May 2, Old Mill Pond Elementary School staff and students honored Firefighter Laurie Manning.


As Manning wrapped up her last visit to the classroom, students lined the hallways with hugs and handmade posters. According to officials, Manning has been employed by the department since 2005 as a fire safety educator and has spent more than 20 years instructing kids in life and fire safety throughout the Town of Palmer.


The department wished Manning a happy retirement and commended her for her devotion to community fire prevention education, service, and dedication.
