Members of the Clinton Volunteer Fire Department took part in live fire training with Essex Fire Engine Company No. 1 at Essex's training site on May 3.

According to officials, the training included controlled live fire scenarios that gave firemen a chance to practice finding fires, searching for casualties, and carrying out suppression operations in realistic settings.

Since Clinton does not currently have a real fire training facility of its own, the department expressed gratitude to Essex firefighters for granting access to the training building and emphasized the importance of ties with neighboring agencies.
