EMS Training Focuses on Critical Pre- and Post-Patient Care Skills
Foster, RI - Members of the Foster Center Volunteer Fire Company dedicated a recent training session to strengthening the essential skills that take place before and after patient contact, reinforcing the foundation of effective EMS response.
Crews reviewed clear and accurate communication with dispatch and incoming responders, ensuring the right resources are deployed quickly and efficiently.
Training also included patient assessment techniques, vital sign evaluation, and proper incident documentation to maintain consistent, high-quality care.
Hands-on evolutions allowed members to practice key EMS skills, including airway management and oxygen administration, blood pressure and blood glucose monitoring, and the application of splints and slings for various injuries.
The session highlighted the importance of preparation, coordination, and attention to detail in delivering dependable emergency medical care to the community.
