WALLINGFORD, CT — April 23rd — During vehicle extrication training, the Town of Wallingford Fire Department concentrated on an under-ride crash in which a passenger car became stuck under the back of a tractor trailer. Firefighters practiced vehicle entry, patient removal, and coordinated extrication tactics using specialized rescue and stabilization equipment. Because under-ride crashes involve heavy vehicles and have little operating area, they pose additional obstacles.

Additionally, the department expressed gratitude to Plaza Service Center for providing equipment and vehicle resources for the training exercise. According to officials, practical exercises assist firefighters enhance their collaboration and get ready for complicated traffic situations involving commercial trucks and severe auto accidents.
