OXFORD, CT — May 2nd — Firefighters from all three town companies participated in the Oxford Center Volunteer Fire Company's monthly multi-company training drill at Center Fire Station to hone their practical skills. Forcible entry, ventilation, and ladder operations—all essential components of fireground operations—were the main topics of the nighttime drill. Flash Fire Industries provides instructors for the forced entry and ventilation stations as well as a mobile training trailer.
During the session, firefighters rehearsed synchronized ventilation protocols, ladder deployment, and entry methods. Regular multi-company drills, according to department leaders, help maintain operational readiness, enhance teamwork among companies, and keep personnel ready for the variety of occurrences handled throughout the community.
