Baltic Fire Company Adds Four New Members

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

The Baltic Fire Engine Company No. 1 declared on May 6th that during the previous six months, four new members had joined the department.

According to officials, volunteer fire departments around Connecticut still struggle with staffing and responsiveness, making member retention and new recruiting crucial. The department reported that officers have continued to invest in member development and training while also strengthening the Town of Sprague's emergency response systems.

Recently, two probationary members completed EMT courses, another member began a Q-Endorsement apparatus driver course, and additional in-house training sessions were conducted. Officials said the new members are already actively training to serve the community and encouraged additional residents to consider joining the department.
