Hamden Recruits Complete Live Fire Training

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

During live fire training at the Litchfield County Regional Fire School, paramedic candidates Tyler Reece, Abia Smith, and Kristopher Luster were monitored by the Hamden Fire Department on April 28.

The recruits are almost finished with a 16-week fire academy program, according to officials, and they recently took part in real fire training exercises intended to assess the abilities they have acquired during the academy. During the training, candidates were exposed to smoke, intense heat, and poor visibility.

According to the department, all three trainees did well in the drills and are getting ready to advance in their careers as firefighters.
