Three Firefighters Earn Certification After Intensive Training

Newington, CT - Newington Volunteer Fire Department continues to uphold high training standards, requiring new members to complete over 200 hours of comprehensive instruction.


This rigorous training program covers critical areas including firefighter safety, fire behavior, personal protective equipment, self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), search operations, forcible entry, ground ladders, ventilation, hose operations, fire streams, loss control, and hazardous materials awareness and operations.


Three of the department’s newest members have successfully completed their Firefighter I certification along with Hazmat Awareness and Operations training through the Hartford County Fire School.


Their achievement reflects a strong commitment to the fire service and readiness to serve the community.
