Augusta Fire Rescue Remembers Battalion Chief Guimond

On the second anniversary of former Battalion Chief Guimond's death, Augusta Fire Rescue members paid tribute to him on May 8.
According to officials, Guimond's leadership and dedication to the fire service allowed him to serve the department and the City of Augusta for 34 years. Firefighters at the station continue to exchange stories and memories of Chief Guimond, according to department members who considered his enduring influence.
The department acknowledged Guimond as an enduring member of the Augusta Fire family and recalled him with appreciation and respect.
