KENNEBUNK, ME — August 6 — Firefighters arrived at the intersection of Route 99, Mill Street, and Whitten Road following a hit-and-run accident that caused a utility pole to fall down.

Kennebunk Fire-Rescue was the first agency to respond.

Their team worked together with the Kennebunk Police Department and local town staff to secure the scene and deal with the damaged pole.The pole needed to be replaced.

For firefighters, incidents involving damaged utility poles involve more than just traffic issues.

When poles, wires, or electrical systems are down, it's important to carefully manage the scene until the utility company can make the area safe again.

Kennebunk Fire-Rescue serves the town of Kennebunk and collaborates with surrounding communities through a shared approach known as “3 towns, 1 community,” which includes Arundel, Kennebunk, and Kennebunkport.
