Plainfield Crews Train on Brush Fire Water Supply

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

The Atwood Hose Fire Company held a townwide training session on brush fire operations and distant water supply on April 23.

Firefighters rehearsed solving access issues that frequently arise during brush fire events, according to officials. In order to service UTV brush units operating close to the Trout Hatchery, crews moved water from the Quinebaug River up an incline using a portable pump.

The Moosup Fire Department, Plainfield Fire Company No. 1, and Central Village Fire Company Station 97 were among the participating departments.
