International Firefighters’ Day Recognized in Peabody

PEABODY, MA — May 4th — In commemoration of International firemen' Day, the Peabody Fire Department honored Peabody firemen as well as firefighters throughout and internationally. A statement acknowledging the daily effort done by firemen, cops, dispatchers, and emergency professionals responding to fires, rescues, medical emergencies, and other situations was shared by department officials. Responders were also warned by the agency to stay cautious during training exercises and emergency operations.


Every year on May 4th, people celebrate International Firefighters' Day to honor the dedication and cooperation of firefighters who serve their communities. Massachusetts fire departments have joined organizations throughout the world in recognizing the vital role emergency responders play in safeguarding public safety, property, and lives.
