HAMDEN, CT — April 24th — At Church Street School, the Hamden Fire Department participated in a tabletop simulation on school safety and emergency preparedness alongside the Hamden Police Department, AMR, school personnel, and town department heads. Participants had the opportunity to go over emergency response protocols, communication strategies, and agency collaboration for school safety throughout the training session. The exercise did not involve the students.

The discussion-based exercise, according to officials, assisted organizations in working through disaster situations and figuring out how to enhance response operations. Emergency management and public safety organizations frequently employ tabletop simulations to improve preparedness and guarantee that responders and school authorities can work collaboratively during disasters. Additionally, during school-related situations, the training reaffirmed the significance of communication and coordinated response actions.
