The Nantucket Fire Department reported on May 7th that Ry Murphy, a probationary firefighter, had graduated from the Massachusetts Department of Fire Services Fire Academy.
The department and the Town of Nantucket, according to officials, are pleased with Murphy's achievement and eager for him to return to the island to help the locals. Murphy was also recognized by Fire Chief Michael Cranson on finishing the academy program.
