Rockport, ME - Rockport Maine Fire Department members conducted training focused on drafting operations, utilizing Chickawaukie Pond as a reliable water source.

Crews successfully operated the department’s new mini pumper, E21, demonstrating its capability to supply water and power multiple deck guns simultaneously.

Training reinforced the fundamentals of drafting, including vacuum creation, proper equipment use, and overcoming common challenges such as air leaks, vortexing, and debris.

The session highlighted the importance of mastering rural water supply techniques when hydrants are not available.
