MIDDLEBURY, CT — On April 27th — A training session on pump operations, water supply management, and hose handling techniques was conducted by the Middlebury Volunteer Fire Department. During simulated fireground conditions, drivers experienced operating several hose lines at varying pressures while ensuring dependable water supply and keeping stable tank levels.
Newer members focused on basic engine company operations and hose advancement procedures at the same time. According to department officials, the training placed a strong emphasis on pump operators and firefighters working together to respond to structural fires. A crucial component of safe and efficient engine operations is still maintaining the right water flow and pressure.
