Milmay, NJ - Members of the Milmay Volunteer Fire Company recently trained at the Atlantic County Fire Academy alongside Station 12-2, focusing on roof ventilation operations.

Firefighters practiced cutting and opening roof structures to simulate real fireground conditions, emphasizing proper saw use, positioning, and teamwork. Ventilation is a critical tactic that allows heat, smoke, and gases to escape, improving interior conditions for crews operating inside.

The hands-on training provided valuable experience in coordinated operations, reinforcing the importance of timing and communication between roof and interior teams during active incidents
