The purchase of a forcible entry door prop for firefighter training was announced on May 1st by the Gilmanton Firefighters' Association.

According to officials, the equipment was financed by community donations and support as well as help from Revo Casino. During training exercises, firefighters can practice opening doors that are locked, obstructed, or barricaded using the simulator.

According to the department, during emergency situations where time is of the essence, the hands-on prop will assist troops in improving forcible entrance procedures and minimizing delays.
